Join us for our tea blending and tea tasting classes
Learn all about the art of tea blending and tea tasting at our popular workshops. Hosted in the evening at our stores, come along alone or with a group, all welcome. A perfect gift for a friend who wants to learn all about tea blending, as corporate entertaining or with your team at work and unique hen parties too!
What's involved?
Our traditional tasting session will teach you all about different teas and blending herbs, how they are made, best enjoyed and their health benefits.
Later in the evening our expert Tea Mixologists will help you create your own tea blends to take home with you, designed, named and packed by your very hands
Throughout the evening choose from our tea cocktail menu and get hands on as we mix you up some of your favourite flavours at our tea cocktail bar.
When, where + how much?
We run our workshop on the designated date (which you can select above) which is run in your chosen store. If you aren't sure just yet, select 'confirm date later' to book in later.
£40p/person
Due to the popularity of the workshop and the fact they sell out months in advance, any changes to your booking must be made 14 days prior to the workshop date.
Unfortunately, if you don’t show up to your workshop and fail to contact us in the 14 days before, we will be unable to re-book you for another date and you will lose your workshop space and your pennies! (Which we really don’t want!).

As a dedicated coffee drinker I was interested in dabbling a little more into the world of tea....and I’m hooked! Have been trying the blends I concocted myself! Great exper-teas from Rhea and Choppy who opened up the world of tea to me! I’ll be ordering soon!

What an amazing experience!! A friend and I went to the mixology workshop in Brighton, hosted by Emily and James and it was fab!! Both Emily and James were so knowledgeable and I leant so much about tea.
The tea tasting was great, as it gave me an opportunity to find which tea combinations I really love and I could then use this to decide which teas to buy at the end of the night. (Although, my dream is to own the whole Bluebird collection! :o) )
When we had the chance to create our own teas it was time to put our knowledge to the test, creating combinations we thought would work well together, I automatically went straight for a chai based tea which I then complimented with cocoa nibs, coconut and star anise. We were then given the chance to make another two combinations, which was amazing as I was only expecting to be able to make one to take home. Emily and James were always on hand to talk you through what they thought worked well together, but anything goes in that situation so you were free to mix up whichever flavours you fancied.
The night was topped off with unlimited drinks from the bar, from which I had a strawberry lemonade drop cocktail and two chai lattes (of course) and although I may be slightly biased due to the fact that I love Bluebird so much, those chai lattes were top notch - above and beyond the chai lattes you can get from elsewhere.
All in all an absolutely amazing night, well worth the price and something I know I will do again. If you love tea and fancy doing something a bit different, then go for it!!...Read more

Refreshingly vibrant
I was bought the tea mixology workshop as a Christmas present and after a long wait (due to popularity of courses!) I finally got to visit the Bristol branch at the end of May. It was the perfect combination of fun and new knowledge, coupled with tasty cocktail treats and endless supply of tea tasting. The staff to customer ratio was spot on - meaning that we always had someone to ask about tea, make us scrummy drinks and guide us on a purchasing tour. The hi-light was getting to make my own tea blends which I am excited about taking to work and sharing with everyone.
Only negative was the lack of toilet! Having said this the staff had made arrangements with local cafes/restaurants so that we could use their facilities. ...Read more
Meet your Matcha
What a night! I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I was oh so pleasantly surprised. FYI - it's a great way to sample everything in the store before it gets discontinued (#savepurplerain)! The hosts Ashley and Emily were insightful and fabulous company, not to mention accommodating when I got carried away with all the matcha samples they were creating! The cocktail of the night was The Unicorn, an enchanting myriad of pinks and purples swirling around the boozey accompaniment of your choice and I will never look at any cocktail in the same way again. After all, if it doesn't contain tea from now on, I'm not interested. It was the best kind of speed dating - finding your perfect tea match (or matcha in my case)! Tom Cruise Cocktails!
I attended your workshop in Tunbridge wells on Friday 12th May and the evening was just wonderful.
The team were absolutely amazing - Monika & Ashleigh are so knowledgeable and fun. Zac was just amazing at making cocktails and lattes - very much reminded me of Tom Cruise From the film Cocktails and Charlie with his tea knowledge was fantastic.
It was a truly valuable learning & very entertaining evening with a team who work extremely well together and feel very comfortable with and interact well together.
I would certainly recommend this workshop for either a gift or for a treat for yourself - you certainly won't be disappointed.

AnTEA Stress
After a very long journey in horrible Bank Holiday traffic, I was very grateful to reach such a welcome destination. After numerous tastings and lots of information, enthusiastically and knowledgeably given by Rhea we ended by concocting our own mixes. My 'GCSE Antidote' with a caffeine free Rooibos base, destressing Tulsi and a hint of pear for sweetness, seems to have gone down a treat with my hard studying twins. My only other (constructive critisism) feedback would be that it would be nice to receive a handout at the end with some of the information we were given as it was a lot to take in and I'm sure I've forgotten qute a bit of it already. Tea, tea & more tea!
We had a great evening mixing & tasting tea. The Bluebird girls certainly know their stuff & made the evening very enjoyable with their enthusiasm. There's so many different flavours to choose from, we wanted to stay a lot longer to try them all! My personal favourite is the dark choc chilli tea, delicious hot or cold. Would highly recommend!

Great evening at Bluebird's Brighton home. Learnt lots about tea, had the chance to taste a lot of tea, hot, cold and alcoholic - fantastic. Mixed a few blends, and have now got the wife to embrace tea more than coffee! Highly recommended evening!
Excellent workshop
A really really great experience. My mum and I went as a belated Christmas gift, and we both had a great time. Lots of delicious tea, and the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable. Already thinking about who to buy this for as a gift next year! Good luck with the new shop!

My girlfriend and I attended recently and were both really impressed with the session. it may not be how some people want to spend there Friday nights but i had an absolutely great time, met some great people tried some amazing teas had a laugh!
Friday Evening in Brighton
The Tea Mixology workshop with Bluebird Tea was something quite different and provided a most enjoyable evening. I was not quite sure what to expect but received a warm welcome with the offer of a tea cocktail to start the evening. I had an iced zinger which was extremely refreshing. The Bluebird girls were knowledgeable on teas and an interesting exchange of views ensued as they passed around a selection of different teas for the group to examine. There was a break to allow us to try another tea so I tried a hot matte which was a type I had not had before. The second part was a tea tasting of a selection of the Bluebird Mixes it was interesting how the taste of the hot teas varied from smell of the dry teas and how peoples tastes and likes differed. The third part was to create 3 own blends using a base tea with a choice of spices, herbs and other additives. I have yet to try my own blends and I am hoping they work! A friday night well spent!
Such a warming and welcoming atmosphere greeted us when we entered Bluebird's little shoppe. Waiting for the others to arrive, we were treated to a couple of delicious tea blended cocktails - an unusual approach to the standard Friday night beverage. Then on to the learning proper, and information was plentiful and free-flowing. The atmosphere was quirky and humourous, and we set about attempting our own blends with genuine glee. Fantastic Friday Evening
We felt compelled to leave a review after attending one of your tea mixology workshops yesterday evening.
We had an absolutely lovely evening and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who likes tea. It was great to be able to learn about all the different types of tea, and then have a go at making our own! We have just got home and tried our coconut & cacao black tea, and it's a hit! Will have to get creative and name it too.

Tea Blending Workshop
This was my first tea blending workshop, and I had a wonderful time! The staff were all so lovely and I really enjoyed learning about the different types of tea and doing the tasting. I definitely recommend this class if you're looking to learn a bit about tea, or even if you're just looking for a fun Friday night out with some delicious tea cocktails.

Suggested a Tea Mixology session @ Bluebird as something different to do together rather than the usual bar thing. What a fab Friday night. Interesting, involving and educating evening smelling deep beautiful aromas and having fun "slurp" tasting the brewed teas. Could buy expertly crafted flavours or dabble in the art of mixology and create your own. Free samples always on hand from friendly tea enthusiast staff and excited educational lesson about pushing the boundaries of tea into gorgeous tea cocktails.
