ChariTEA: Marine Conservation Society

Learn about our ChariTEA of the quarter and what they do to help others! Our chosen ChariTEA this quarter is Marine Conservation Society (MCS) & they have chosen Gingersnap Green as their blend to help raise funds. This means that 100% of the profits will go straight to MCS! We asked them more about their fantastic cause & why they chose this blend, find out more below...

What does MCS Do?

At the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) our vision is for seas full of life – seas and coasts where nature flourishes and people thrive.

We act because everyone relies on the ocean to survive, from the air we breathe to the food we eat. By helping people to discover, value and enjoy being connected to our seas, we can all make better decisions today, which will ensure seas full of life for future generations.

Without our supporters we wouldn’t be able to continue the work we do. It’s fantastic to have  the opportunity to work with the Bird & Blend Tea Co. and not only raise vital funds for our work but spread the word about how they as a company are really pushing the boundaries for reducing single use plastic. Not only that, their teas are delicious!

Why did MCS choose Gingersnap Green?

When we were offered a range of teas to choose from for our ‘partnership tea’, we ran a staff online poll in the office and there was a very clear winner! Gingersnap Green came out on top by a long shot, given that we will be working together during the biggest detox months of the year – January to March! The refreshing blend made it all too tempting for a healthy start to 2019!

The funds raised through the partnership will go towards supporting our existing campaigns for cleaner seas and beaches. A major part of our focus as a charity is on the reduction of marine litter, and of course single use plastic. Through our beach clean programme we send out thousands of volunteers each year to clean and survey the rubbish they find across hundreds of UK beaches. Not only making them a nicer, safer environment for wildlife and us, but collecting valuable data to allow us to tackle the litter problem at source.
