Charity Community Knit: Crochet A Square

Charity Community Knit: Crochet A Square

You know, we are supporting Time To Talk Befriending this quarter - a charity that helps people over 65 who feel chronic loneliness caused by social isolation.

We will be donating 100% of the profits of all sales from October to December from Vicky's Sponge Cake but we wanted to do more. So, we are hosting a Community Knit.

The Community Knit will create some granny squares. We have already started making some, but we would love it if you guys got involved, too!

Why Granny Squares?

The reason we are knitting granny squares is that we will be filling them with tea and sending them out to the people involved with Time To Talk Befriending!

The idea behind it is that the lovely people will receive them can enjoy a tasty cup of tea and then be able to reuse the super cute square!

How Can You Get Involved?

You can get involved by knitting one (or more yourself!).

We will be hosting knitting events in some of our stores. Upcoming events:

Brighton CommuniTEA Knit 24th Nov with Mercedes from Sewing Bee

Bristol CommuniTEA Knit 21st Nov

Manchester CommuniTEA Knit 24th Nov

Nottingham CommuniTEA Knit 21st Nov

Angel CommuniTEA Knit 23rd Nov

...But for those who aren't near a store, you can simply post it to us at:

Your square measures 5-inches square at this point.  You then need to make another one, so you have two crochet squares, stitch them together (only stitch 3 sides) so you make a pocket for us to fill it with tea!

Once you're pouch is made, please post it to us at:

The deadline for us to receive them is the 30th of November, so we have time to fill them before giving them out at the TTTB Christmas Parties!
