Allergens in our teas
At Bird & Blend, our aim is to have fun, accessible and tasty tea for everyone so we strive to create blends from all sorts of wonderful ingredients. The more unusual ingredients that we use can contain traces of nuts, dairy and wheat. Most are only trace level and once infused in a cup of tea these ingredients are very low. Please find all the information you need below to make your own choices regarding which teas are suitable for you.
We have also included information about vegan-friendly teas and those that contain sugar as this is the most commonly requested allergen information.
If you are unsure if one of our teas has something in it you can’t have, the product description on each tea’s page can tell you, this is located on the right if you scroll down the page. Our tea packaging also always have the ingredients listed and allergens in bold.
WARNING: Our teas are hand packed in the UK in environments that handle many different blending ingredients and we cannot 100% guarantee no cross-contamination. Therefore all blends may contain traces of: wheat, nuts, peanuts, milk, soya, mustard, sesame and sulphites.

Teas Containing Sugar
We only have two teas with sugar in them, in both cases this is to balance the tart, sour flavours in the blend.
Gingersnap Green
Chinese green tea, apple pieces, ginger, hibiscus, mango pieces, papaya pieces, sugar, calendula petals, sunflower petals, flavour
Mango Tulsi
Tulsi (holy basil), pineapple, corinths, papaya, lemon balm, sunflower petals, hibiscus, sugar, flavour.
Teas With Sprinkles / Candied Fruit
We sometimes use candied fruit or sprinkles in our teas, which in turn can contain sugar. But in this case, the sugar is less than a trace when brewed and has no nutritional value.
Cococabana Coola

Fruit Salad

Black Magic Charcoal Matcha
Activated coconut charcoal, cocoa powder, matcha green tea, Kenyan white matcha.
Warning: Activated charcoal can interfere with medication as it binds to toxins. We recommend that you do not drink our charcoal matcha if on any medication. This also applies to the contraceptive pill.

PLEASE NOTE: Sulphites are used in foods due to their anti-bacterial and preservative properties. None of Bird & Blend’s blends contain sulphites as an ingredient but some of our dried fruit pieces come from a factory that uses Sulphur dioxide (E220) to prevent browning and rotting for some of its other dried fruit pieces (none that Bird & Blend use) so we cannot guarantee there are no traces.
